The Michigan Association of Collection Agencies strives to inform and educate its members on issues concerning the credit and collection industry. Florida Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (FMSDC)

Content Manager Image The Florida Minority Supplier Development Council is an affiliate member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, a national organization with a membership of over 3,500 major corporations and 15,000 certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) suppliers. The purpose of the FMSDC is to provide major corporations and government agencies with easy access to minority owned and operated businesses. The FMSDC provides MBE certification, networking, contract funding, trade fairs, web access to MBE and corporate member directories, buyer training, sales training and more.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is federal law which regulates the activities of those who regularly collect debts from others. It outlines what information debt collectors can gather on an individual. It contains specific rules on how debt collectors can communicate with an individual at home and at work. These collector rules are designed to protect individuals from abuse, harassment, false and misleading tricks and illegal debt collector tactics.

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
The Fair Credit Reporting Act, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, is designed to promote accuracy and ensure the privacy of the information used in consumer reports.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act provides rights and protections for participants and beneficiaries in group health plans. HIPAA includes provisions for health insurance portability, fraud and abuse control, tax related provisions, group health plan requirements, revenue offset provisions, and administrative simplification requirements. It also includes a privacy rule, which is the first comprehensive Federal protection for the privacy of personal health information.
